Kelsey Langham Crowned 68th Dogwood Queen

Another Tyler County Dogwood Festival is over, and terrific weather for the 68th Annual event brought out great crowds for all three weekends. And the Queen’s Weekend continued the great attendance from the Dogwood Dash Saturday morning, through the Parade and into a packed amphitheatre for the Pageant Saturday night. The highlight of the day, of course, is the crowning of the Dogwood Queen during the Pageant, and this years Queen, Kelsey Langham of Warren, was crowned by “Mr. East Texas” Jim McReynolds. Princess of Tyler County is Amber Guerrero of Colmesneil. Taylor Ferris of Kingwood was named Grand Duchess. James E. Wheat Award recipients this year were Glen Conner, Keith Fuller, Michelle Martindale and Beverly Reese. Overall winners in the Dogwood Dash were (Male) Sampson Graham with a time of 17:17 and (Female) Lizi Martin with a time of 23:36. You’ll find a listing of all the winners and their times, along with a group photo, on page 2B of this issue. Parade Winners this year were: Duchesses: 1st. Place Shannon Williams of Kountze, 2nd Place Rachael Dugger of Liberty, and 3rd Place Chandler Modisette of Huntington. Princesses: 1st Place Woodville, 2nd Place Warren and 3rd Place Colmesneil. Commercial: 1st Place Paper Works Printing, 2nd Place Pilgrim Insurance, and 3rd Place Tyler County Hospital. Non-Commercial: 1st Place Wee Wisdom, 2nd Place St. Paul’s Episcopal School, and 3rd Place Alabama-Coushatta Tribe of Texas. Civic: 1st Place Rotary, 2nd Place Boy Scouts of America, and 3rd Place Dogwood Hills Baptist Church. Bands: 1st Place Warren, 2nd Place Colmesneil and 3rd Place Woodville
