Community Spirit Thrives in Ivanhoe
Tyler County Booster - August 2009
A large number of concerned residents of Ivanhoe have been attending “Community Workshops” during the course of the past year and out of one of these workshops came the brainchild of Will & Sara Warren to create “Citizens Security Patrols” and the idea has taken on a life of its own. The purpose of the patrols is to keep the Ivanhoe lakes and parks safe and provide a wholesome environment for all Ivanhoe property owners in good standing. The Security Patrol was hard at work this past 4th of July weekend headed up by Cecil Widner who took over the coordination of the volunteers in Will & Sara’s absence. The Patrols have worked consistently on all holiday weekends and other random weekends since the idea started. The dedicated volunteers that have made this happen are greatly appreciated and the cooperation of the people of Ivanhoe in this effort has been outstanding. It has really awakened a sense of community spirit.
