Sometimes you have to kiss a few pigs!

Local veterinarian Dr. Gordon McCluskey gets a big “smooch” from “Pork Chop”, a pot-bellied pig, as part of an American Cancer Society fund raiser. On February 14, 2009 Dr. McCluskey had to “Kiss - the - Pig” as the winner of the donation fund raiser sponsored by the Gordon’s Pet Crew Relay for Life team. During the fund raiser, several members of the community agreed to have their names placed on donation receptacles around the county and people were asked to make donations for the one they wanted to see kiss the pig. Whoever received the largest amount of donations would have to kiss Pork Chop. The other individuals who participated were Daniel Spivey, Stephanie Waldrep, Bill Zappe and Donna Spivey. In all, over three hundred dollars was raised to help in the fight against cancer. Gordon’s Pet Crew also currently has several raffles underway to raise additional money for the American Cancer Society.
