Mary Ann Reid is Chamber Speaker

Tyler County Chamber of Commerce holds its annual Awards Banquet Friday, January 23. This year’s keynote speaker is Mary Ann Reid. Reid is the President of the Greater Port Arthur Chamber of Commerce. She is a Civil Service Commissioner for the City of Port Arthur. Prior to her current position, she worked for Acadian Ambulance as the Community Relations Supervisor –Southeast Texas Operations. Raised in Port Arthur, Texas Reid lives with her husband Robert and four children: Chelsea- sophomore at Monsignor Kelly High School; Kyle-seventh grade; Reece-third grade and Jessica-second grade, all at St. Catherine of Sienna school. A 1984 graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School, prior to that she attended Bishop Byrne Catholic High School where she was a Colleen. She then attended Lamar University. Mary Ann was honored with the 2004 Athena Award from the Greater Port Arthur Chamber of Commerce. She is also an active member of Saint Catherine of Sienna Catholic Church; the Service League of Port Arthur, and the Rotary Club of Port Arthur. Reid is also a board member of the Symphony of Southeast Texas; board member of the Southeast Texas Economic Development Foundation and Christus Health of Southeast Texas. Reid has completed her first year of both the Texas Community Development Institute and the Institute for Organization Management. She is in her first year of Leadership of Southeast Texas. Reid is the Secretary for the Gulf Coast Chamber Executive organization and Southeast Texas Workforce Development Alliance Steering Committee and a board member of the Regional Economic Development, Inc. (REDI) a group dedicated to bringing opportunities to Southeast Texas. Banquet tickets are available at the Chamber Office for $20 each. The Banquet is a great opportunity to meet area business owners, teachers and outstanding citizens.
