Merry Christmas from Heritage Village Museum
Tyler County Booster - January 2010
This is a wonderful time of year. The cooler weather seems to make the Christmas lights twinkle even merrier. The yard decorations throughout the area have been outstanding and varied. The different school and church programs have all served to remind us of the “reason for the season”. By the time you read this it will be too late to shop at the Village Gift Shop for your last minute gifts but it is not too late to include the Heritage Society in your end of year gift-giving. I have suggested that each family donate $10 to the Heritage Society but no gift is too small to be useful in our mission of preserving the past for the future. Last week’s column detailed several ways that you can make donations including life insurance, trusts, and cash. If you would like further information, please call the Village at 283-2272. We realize that many of you are having a struggle just now because of the economy. You can still support the Village with a gift of your time. We keep a list of maintenance items that we would welcome you working on. We need docents and demonstrators. We could use some secretarial help with newsletters and other mailings. Give us a call at 283-2272. We thank those of you who have already given to the Society and we thank the rest of you in advance. Heritage Village and the Pickett House will be closed Christmas Eve and Christmas Day and New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day so that our employees can spend the holidays with their families. May the Peace of this holy season enfold you in love. Merry Christmas.
