A look back at 2009’s top stories
Tyler County Booster - January 2010

The last year has been an interesting one for Tyler County. While the country-wide recession has certainly been felt here, there have also been “beginnings” that bode well for the future. The Tyler County Chamber of Commerce has been reborn as a strong, viable force supporting county businesses, we have a bio-mass plant being built that will bring jobs into the county and an outlet for some of our natural resources, a major bridge project has been completed that will improve transportation within the county, Tyler County Hospital Foundation received a $1 million dollar bequest that will prove very helpful to the hospital, and two new cities were born in Ivanhoe as a result of the hard work of a lot of citizens there. We are looking forward to moving all these projects forward to make 2010 an even better year! Oh, and, the Number One top story in 2009? There was NO hurricane!
