Village July 4 Picnic Saturday

Heritage Village is throwing an Old Fashioned Fourth of July picnic Saturday. The event is free, and the gates open at 4 p.m. A highlight of this year’s event is the History of the American Flag exhibit in the Gift Shop exhibit room. Don’t miss it. Parking is along the road. The lower parking lot will be open for people who want to eat at the Pickett House or familes with young children participating in the Children’s parade. The event will feature musical entertainment, a pie-baking contest, quilting block contest, games for all ages, a dunking tank, face painting, food and, of course, the fireworks display which will begin at 9 p.m. to close out the day.
