Three Tyler County men charged with DWI Third or more Offense

James Daniel Ard, age 41 of Colmesneil was arrested by deputy Rene Gutierrez on July 6 for driving while intoxicated third or more offense and assault family/ violence of a household/family member impeding breath/ circulation. Bond was set for $25,000. Danel Wayne Means, age 29 of Spurger was arrested July 15 by Tyler County Sheriff ’s corporal Donald Calhoun on a warrant for failure to appear on a driving while intoxicated third or more offense charge. Bond was denied. Jose Luis Vasques, age 38 of Woodville was arrested July 17 by Department of Public Safety officer Buck Odom for driving while intoxicated third or more offense. Bond was set for $5000. DWI third offense laws in Texas make the crime a third degree felony with a fine not more than $10,000, jail time of not less than two years or more than 10 years, deep lung air device required as condition of bond and conditions of occupational or provisional licenses, not less than 160 hours of community service or more than 600 and suspension of drivers license. Texas law does not provide for any increased punishment after DWI third offense.
