The Old Glory Celebration, sponsored by the Wildwood Civic Club, will be held on Friday, July 3 and Saturday July 4 in Wildwood. We are 30 miles south of Woodville just off of Highway 69. The event kicks off with a fish fry from 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm on Friday, July 3rd at the Mill House. Adult tickets are $8.00 and children 12 and under are $5.00 each. Tickets must be purchased in advance. At 8:00 pm there will be cantata titled “The Spirit of America” presented by the Methodist and Baptist Churches combined. This patriotic musical will be held at the Wildwood Baptist Church. On Saturday July 4th festivities will begin with a parade through Wildwood starting at 9 am. In and around the Lodge from 9am - 1 pm there will be many things going on. There will be an annual bake sale by the Wildwood Home and Garden Club, craft booths, food booths and children’s water slides. The cost of tickets for the slides will be 50 cents per ticket. From 1pm to dark on Saturday there will be fun at the beach with swimming and water activities. The Fire Department will be selling hotlinks, hamburgers, cheese fries, corn dogs and a few whole smoked chickens to keep appetites under control. At 8:15 pm Wildwood will present its second annual lighted boat parade on Lake Kimble. The annual Shoffitt Family Fireworks will begin at 9 pm.
