Kelli Barnes named Booster General Manager

Tyler County Booster

Tyler County Booster Publisher Alvin Holley has promoted Kelli Barnes to the position of General Manager of the Booster. Barnes replaces long time General Manager John Morrison who will work with the Booster’s parent company, Polk County Publishing Co., in other capacities at different locations of some of the company’s other papers. Morrison has been associated with the Tyler County Booster for the last 36 years. He owned the Tyler County Booster until 1992 at which time he sold it to Polk County Publishing Co. From that time he as served as General Manager. Barnes, who has spent 20 years at the Booster in various capacities, including advertising sales and Advertising Director, has been instrumental in guiding the newspaper through a two-year transition from a different format, completely black and white product to the newspaper you enjoy today. The changes include a complete redesign and introduction of color photos and advertising. She has also been responsible for producing the very popular color “County Extra” page that runs each week. “I love Tyler County and am going to continue working for our subscribers and advertisers to bring you the best possible community newspaper,” Barnes said. “Stop by our office at 205 W. Bluff in Woodville and say “Hi.” We have a great selection of books, invitations, business cards and “Scoops” Blue Bell Ice Cream. If you are not a subscriber, take advantage of the 39 cents per issue discount and have the Booster delivered directly to you.”
