Harwell Charged With Capital Murder

Suzanna Harwell, 24, was arrested Friday near Ivanhoe by Tyler County Sheriff’s deputies. Harwell is charged with Capital Murder in the death of her son, Brandel Christopher David Goebel who was six month’s old at the time of his death. Harwell is being held in Tyler County Jail. Her bond was set at $1 million. According to Tyler County Sheriff David Hennigan, the autopsy on the infant came back from the Harris County Medical Examiner, who ruled the death was a homicide. She was arraigned Saturday by JP Pct. 1 Bryan Weatherford. The investigating officer was Sgt. Trish Ford. The arrest stems from an October, 2009, incident. Harwell is accused of injuring the child and those injuries led to his death. There were three other children in the home at the time of the incident, all who were placed into foster homes following the event. Excellent work by Sheriffs Department lead investigator Ford.
