Results unchanged by Local Option recount
Tyler County Booster
A recount last week as a result of very close results in closely watched Precinct 2 local option election left the outcome unchanged. According to Tyler County Clerk Donece Gregory, both sides of the election gained one vote for each of the two propositions. The election, held May 8, had two propositions. Proposition 1 would have allowed the legal sale of beer and wine for off premise consumption. Proposition 2 would have legalized the sale of mixed drinks in restaurants in the Precinct. After the recount, Proposition 1 failed 420 to 418. Propostion 2 failed 426 to 413. These are the final, canvassed results.
