Extravagant Generosity is Circle of Faith Key
Tyler County Booster - November 2009

The Wildwood/ Village Mills United Methodist Church group Circle of Faith (COF) just completed it’s 66th successful Estate Sale this past weekend. But, the work is just beginning. The group, which is widely known for it’s charity reach beyond those who need help within Wildwood, now has to discern where to best place the proceeds in a way that reflects the extravagant generosity of Jesus. The group has assisted groups locally including the Sinclair House, The Rainbow Room, The Women’s and Children’s Shelter. Some Other Place, Christian Loving Care Center, the Wesley Center at Lamar University and the Salvation Army. Up until the sale this past week the COF Group has earned over $70,000 from its estate sales activity with $27,000 being used fore the building fund of the church and $28,000 benefitting the charities listed and other individual needs. The began its activities with a purpose to help family members of deceased Wildwood residents or to help families that had to move into nursing homes, with their children or into smaller homes with their children. According to Rev. David Foster, “The Circle of Faith volunteers from our church are very much appreciated by the community. They have fun doing what they do and they enjoy the fellowship while helping others.”
