2009 Tyler County Fair kicks off Oct. 1

It is time again for the Tyler County Fair, held this year Thursday, Friday and Saturday, October 1-3, at the Fairgrounds. The Fair is always a great opportunity 1for the entire family to come out, eat some great food and see some fine animals. Of course the livestock show and sale is the highlight of the event. Tyler County young people have spent the last year raising and grooming their animals to bring top money at sale, and the Fair will again feature the year-long efforts of a lot of Tyler County young people. The Fair gives them a chance to show off their efforts in Livestock, Home Economics, Fine Arts and Photography categories. Prizes are awarded in Home Economics, Fine Arts and Photography. The Livestock show and judging is the highlight of the event. And there is always plenty of good food at the Fair, so bring your appetite! The Carnival will be back this year. Arm band night is Thursday, from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. Tyler County Sheriff’s Posse will be parking cars this year at the Fairgrounds. Donation to park is $1.
