Woodville City Council approves budget, tax rate

Following a public hearing Monday night that nobody attended, Woodville City Council approved the new city budget and tax rate. Woodville Mayor Ben Bythewood said he was pleased that the tax rate remained unchanged from last year. Total city budget for 2009/2010 is $11,631,838, most of which comes not from property taxes but from sales taxes, Bythewood explained. The breakdown is $3,206,064 for the General Fund, $171,167 for Special Revenue Funds, $7,801,907 for Enterprise Funds and $452,700 for Debt Service Funds. The tax rate remains .3749.
