Blood Drive to Honor Texas Children’s Hospital Patient Trevon Mitchell

The East Texas community is invited to help save lives with Woodville Health and Rehabilitation Center on Thursday, Oct. 21, from 11 a.m. until 3:30 p.m.. The Blood Center East Texas will be conducting a blood drive onsite from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in honor of Texas Children’s Hospital patient Trevon Mitchell. More than 1,000 donations are needed every month to meet the needs of patients in the East Texas area and every donation can save as many as three lives! Commit for Life members who donate or attempt to donate at the drive will be entered to win one of four pairs of Continental Airlines tickets for travel in the contiguous United States as part of The Blood Center’s “Save Lives, See the World” promotion, happening Sept.1 though Nov. 30. Woodville Health and Rehabilitation Center is located at 102 N. Beech St. in Woodville. To schedule your donation, visit www.givebloodet.org or call 1(888) 433-1733. Donors must be at least 17 years of age, weigh a minimum of 110 pounds and be in good general health. Individuals who are 16 years old, at least 122 pounds, in good general health and have parental consent also may donate. The donation process is simple, taking only about one hour. The Blood Center East Texas, an affiliate of Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center, is an independent, nonprofit blood center and is not affiliated with the American Red Cross.
