Relay For Life Committee Looking For Volunteers
Tyler County Booster
The Relay for Life Committee of Tyler County, are looking to recruit young adults and pre-teens to volunteer for our Luminary Committee for the upcoming 2011 Relay Year. Please, notify Charlean Wiggins at cwiggins@ esc5.net or Chesney Wright at parrotheadgal@ gmail.com of any youth group either within your church or school interested in serving on this committee the night of Relay or in any other capacity. Duties as Luminary Committee Member may include: selling luminary bags, decorating bags, distributing them along the track, helping to set-up/take down luminary camp, distributing glow sicks, communicating effectively with team members and fellow committee members so that the ceremony can run most effectively. There may be other volunteer opportunities for these young people. Please, remind them this opportunity is a great way to begin clocking volunteer hours and if needed I will provide reference letters for their work done during the Relay year. There are many other opportunities for them to serve which may help them to develop leadership skills as well.
