C-C High announces homecoming court


CORRIGAN -- The Cor-rigan-Camden High School recently announced the 2012 Homecoming Court. One of the four seniors will be crowned the 2012 Homecoming Queen this Friday night at Bulldog Stadi-um during halftime festivities. Listed below is the court and their biographies: Freshmen Duchess Rachel Grace DuboseRachel is the daughter of Clay and Emily Dubose.She is being escorted by Kade Bentley, the son of Adam and Alyson Baker.Rachel is currently a varsity cheerleader. She is a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church in Lufkin, TX. Rachel is actively involved in her community. She volun-teered this summer in the read-ing program in Diboll as well as helping with the Turkey Trot.She plans to the University of Texas.Freshmen Duchess Tashia RobertsTashia is the daughter of Ter-rence and Tiffany Roberts.She is being escorted by her father.Tashia is involved in C-CHS athletics. She is the captain of the JV volleyball team. She also plans to play basketball, softball, and run track. She has been on the A honor roll since 2nd grade and com-petes in UIL academics. She was chosen as co-star player in basketball and track while in Jr. High.Tashia attends St. Thomas Church in Diboll. She volun-teers in the church nursery. She was also a member of the Mt. Olive praise teams for 2 years.Tashia plans on becoming a pediatrician on an army base. Sophomore Duchess Grecia GuerreroGrecia is the daughter of Martina and Gricelda Guerrero.She is being escorted tonight by Martin Fabela, the son of Martin and Juanita Fabela.Grecia has been involved in athletics for the past 2 years. She plays basketball, volley-ball, softball, track, and cross country.She has received the STAR student award for citizenship.She attends San Martin de Porres Catholic Church in Corrigan where she reads and volunteers.Grecia plans to attend Ste-phen F. Austin State University and pursue a degree in Criminal Justice.Sophomore Duchess Skyler Jewel HandleySkyler is the daughter of Seth and Lene Handley.Skyler is being escorted by Cannon Bullock., the son of Mark and Carrie Bullock and Clark and Yana Ogletree.Skyler is active in athletics. She has played volleyball and softball for the past 2 years. She was also the Freshmen Class Vice President last year.She was an honor student last year with an A average.Skyler attends First Baptist Church in Corrigan where she is an active member of the youth. She volunteers with Habitat for Humanity and has also helps with the summer reading pro-gram and the Mickey Reily Public Library in Corrigan.Skyler plans to attend Texas A&M and pursue a degree in Marketing with a minor in fash-ion merchandising. She aspires to be a buyer for a major depart-ment store.Junior Duchess Vanessa GuerreroVanessa is the daughter of Juan and Francisca Guerrero.She is being escorted by Timothy Burley, Jr., the son of Timothy Burley, Sr. and Angela Rice.Vanessa has participated in volleyball for 1 year and cross country and track for 2 years where she was a regional quali-fier.She is currently obtaining her Certified Nurses Aide and Phle-botomy certification through C-CHS and Angelina College.Vanessa is a member of the Saint Martin de Porres catho-lic church where she is an alter server.She plans to attend Stephen F. Austin State Univ. and obtain a degree in nursing.Junior Duchess Chelsi Diane WyattChelsi is the daughter of Stephanie Petties.Chelsi is being escorted to-night by Keegan Mitchell, the son of Spring Maroongroge.Chelsi is a member of the CCHS student council and has been a member of the history club. She has ran cross-country for 2 years and place at the dis-trict meet.She has been a C-CHS spirit sprinter for 2 years as well.Chelsi attends the Lilly Is-land Baptist Church where is the head of the praise team. She volunteers during the holiday season with food distribution for the needy.She plans to pursue a degree in child psychology upon high school graduation.Senior Princess Brinesha CooperBrinesha is the granddaugh-ter of John and Annie Cooper. She is being escorted by her grandfather.Brinesha has been a var-sity cheerleader for the past 4 years.She is an active member of athletics. She has played vol-leyball and basketball for the past 4 years as well as softball for 2 years.Brinesha has been a member of the homecoming court for 4 years as well.She is a concurrent student at Angelina College. Upon grad-uation she will have earned 27 college hours.Brinesha attends the Church of the Living God in Seven Oaks.Upon graduation, she plans to attend the University of Tex-as in San Antonio and pursue a degree in nursing.Senior Princess Alexandra GuzmanAlexandra is the daughter of Tanilo and Adela Guzman. She is being escorted by her father.Alexandra has obtained her CNA certification through Angelina College and C-CHS and is currently enrolled in the phlebotomy program. She has ran track and cross country where she was a re-gional qualifier.Alexandra is a member of the Nuestra Senora de Guadal-upe Church.She plans on attending Ste-phen F. Austin State University to pursue a degree in occupa-tional therapy.Senior Princess Selina Noemi HernandezSelina is the daughter of the late Yolanda Guzman.She is being escorted by her cousin, Henry Guzman, Jr. Henry is the son of Henry and Celia Guzman.Selina has been a varsity cheerleader for 4 years. She played volleyball for 3 year and varsity softball for 2 years.She has been a member of the homecoming court for all 4 years in High School.Selina is a member of St Martin de Porres Catholic Church in Corrigan. She plans to attend Angelina College and major in radiology. Senior Princess Jillian Spaw Jillian is the daughter of Teresa and Scott Spaw. She is being escorted by Andrew Harvey. Andrew is the son of Russell and Kathy Harvey. Jillian participated in track and cross country her 9thgrade year. She has been on the student council for 2 years and been a class officer in 9th through 11th grades. She served on the prom committee last year. Jillian is a concurrent student at Angelina College. She is an honor student. Jillian volunteers for relay for life, commit for life blood drives, and the Phil Bennett relays. Jillian plans to attend Texas A&M and pursue a degree in Radiology.
