Heritage Center Project comes to life

CORRIGAN -- Funded literally 99.997% by Corriganites— past and present, near and far... the Heritage Center Project has fi nally come to life. This venture, under the direction of the Corrigan Community Service League, is being supported by contributions from local community members; some who reside here and others who will always call Corrigan "home". The project also received a grant from BP, for which we are very appreciative and grateful, accounting for the other .002% of funding. The point is this—the project has come to life because our community has breathed life into it. What started as a "restorative procedure" has turned into "reconstructive procedure". The elements had taken too great a toll on the bones. The structural supports were too weak, deteriorated, or non-existent, for the building to withstand any improvements. While this extreme approach was fought tooth and nail, in the end, there was no way to restore the integrity of the existing structure to create a safe, sound and maintainable building. The structure was dismantled; leaving the front wall/porch area and salvaging all interior wood which will be used to fi nish the inside walls. Reconstruction has already begun and is moving very quickly. Original dimensions and details will be copied. Just think of it as a facelift. Thank you Corrigan for your support. If you would like to be a part of the Heritage Center Project, making history come to life, please get involved today. There are still many aspects to this project to be funded. Your tax-deductible contribution could help.
