SHARE is Moving
Houston County Courier - August 2008
Houston County SHARE is moving! The First United Methodist Church of Crockett has made available one of the buildings on the former Intermediate School Campus and SHARE is moving to the building formerly used for Alternative Education at 206 South Eighth Street.
The church has done extensive re-modeling of the building, including a new roof, insulation, and the installation of interior doors to fit the needs of SHARE's ministry with those seeking help in Houston County.
The building is handicap-friendly, and will provide a large reception area, two restrooms, and larger facilities for clients to select clothing.
Beginning in a former furniture store on the square in 1985, SHARE has been housed in three different locations as the organization continues to serve people with food, clothing, household goods, books, diapers, emergency dental care, emergency prescription needs, utility assistance, fans for the elderly and the handicapped, and transportation to medical facilities.
Because of the impending move, the offices of SHARE, 206 South Sixth, will be closed for two weeks from Aug. 11-22, while our volunteers pack up, move, set up, and get ready to serve people in our new location.
SHARE is pleased to partner with the First United Methodist Church in ministry at this new location, and welcomes volunteers to assist with the move or to volunteer at the new site.
SHARE is a 501(3)c organization, wholly supported by the contributions of 23 churches and by many individuals and civic groups of Houston County.
To volunteer or to ask questions, call Jim Tom Ainsworth, president at (936) 544-8309.
