Houston County Courier - August 2008
By Suzanne Steed

According to organizers, the 2nd Crockett Area Hunting Expo was a great success.
The Wall of Horns had bigger and better specimens of the Texas Forest Country of Houston County and surrounding areas.
The configuration of horns, the various colors of mounts, the shape and size of the deer were very informative.
There were booths that appealed to a wide variety of interests.
Lamps made of horns, pictures of feathers, horn napkin rings, calls, and corn-on-the-cob holders.
Various cooperatives offering an assortment of feed and hunting supplies delighted attendees.
Expo goers enjoyed seeing ATVs, tractors, UTVs, bows and arrows, real estate, taxidermy, US Forest Service, newspapers, organized hunts and hunting Guides, duck decoys, animal carving, fish carvings and clothing booths.
The event, which was held Friday-Sunday, Aug. 8-10 attracted hunting enthusiasts of all types who enjoyed the many exhibits, seminars and fellowship.
