Joe Barton holds town hall meeting

LOVELADY – A significant number of Houston County residents turned out for the town hall meeting hosted by Congressman Joe Barton at the Lovelady Old Gym on Monday afternoon, Aug. 17.
Approximately 300 people showed up for the hour-long meeting.
Congressman Barton addressed the Health Care Bill and then fielded questions from the audience.
The meeting was positive and most questions from the crowd were directed at government intervention, government spending and about the local desire to see more traditional representation.
For example, one citizen spoke to the issue of maintaining God on our currency and the 10 commandments on government buildings.
The crowd seemed to be centered behind that type of questions.
