Law enforcement benefits from donation
Houston County Courier - August 2009
The Houston County Law Enforcement Association received a donation from Crockett Modern Woodmen of America on Friday, July 24 in the amount of $5,080.
The funds were generated by a fish fry fundraiser held on Saturday, June 13.
The donation included a match of $2,500 from the Modern Woodmen’s corporate office through the organizations matching fund program.
The money will be used for scholarships for Houston County students.
The matching fund program offers Modern Woodmen chapter members nationwide the chance to show their support of a community cause, organization or individual in need by partnering with community organizations and holding fund-raisers.
Modern Woodmen matches money raised up to $2500. These fund-raising projects contribute more than $6 million to community needs nationwide each year.
Founded in 1883 as a fraternal benefit society, the Modern Woodmen of America offers financial services and fraternal benefits to individuals and families throughout the United States.
The organization’s Crockett chapter provides a number of volunteer service and social activities for local members.
