Sheriff’s Office grateful for donation
Houston County Courier
Looking forward to new vests On July 27, Houston County Commissioners accepted a donation of $13,600 that will be used to furnish the Sheriff’s Office deputies with brand new, top quality bullet proof vests. The vests were donated by a source that wishes to remain anonymous, but who wanted to offer something that would be of value to the sheriff’s office and county and relieve a financial burden for a necessary piece of equipment. Sheriff Darrel Bobbitt stated that his office is very appreciative of this generous donation and it helps the morale of his office to see how much the citizens of this county support the work they do. In the past, Bobbitt stated, his deputies were furnished vests, but because of funds, they had to settle for a lower quality, and uncomfortable vests. With the funds made available, he will now be able to furnish his deputies with top of the line, safer and more comfortable vests.
