Crash claims local youth

A 3-year-old youth was airlifted by PHI Med 11 to Louisiana State University pediatric Trauma Center in Shreveport Tuesday following an 10:41 a.m. crash on CR 1170 north of FM 227 just outside Ratcliff in the Tadmore Community. The youth reportedly died as a result of the injuries he sustained.
According to reports from The Texas Department of Public Safety, a 2001 Ford Expedition, driven by Ashley Arnold, veered off the road to the right to and struck a tree.
The 25-year-old Ms. Arnold was transported to Lufkin Memorial Hospital by ETMC EMS for treatment of the injuries she sustained in the crash.
DPS Trooper I Felipe Garcia of Madisonville, Senior Trooper Bob Reeves, Kennard First Responders, and Kennard Volunteer Fire Department responded to the call.
