Houston County Honors Its Employees
Houston County Courier - December 2009
CROCKETT - Longevity pay awards totaling more than $67,000 were presented to employees of Houston County during the annual County Employee Appreciation Dinner held Tuesday night at the Good Shepherd Fellowship Family Life Center in Crockett.
To reward employees and reduce turnover, Houston County awards longevity pay of $8 per month for each month of continuous service.
Fulltime employees qualify for the bonus pay after they have been on the job for 12 months. There is a cap of 240 months. The checks ranged from $96 for an employee with 12 months of service, up to $1,920 for employees with 20 years or more of service.
The dinner was dedicated to the memory of Eliza Bishop, and special guests were members of the Houston County Historical Commission. They were recognized for the many hours they contribute without pay.
