Free H1N1 Flu Shots Now Available In Houston County
Houston County Courier - December 2009
CROCKETT - The H1N1 flu shots are now available to everyone over 6 months of age in Houston County.
Everyone who wants the vaccination can get it now.
Houston County Judge Lonnie Hunt said, “We have been very fortunate in Houston County thus far. While we have had a significant number of suspected cases, we have not been hit as hard as many areas. However, the peak of flu season usually occurs around the month of February, so it is still early. The best way to protect yourself from the H1N1 flu is to get the shot.”
“We encourage you to check with your usual health care provider. Your local physician is best qualified to meet your health care needs and answer any questions you have about H1N1 flu or any other health issue,” Judge Hunt said.
The shots are also available at the Texas Department of State Health Services, located at 1034 S. Fourth Street in Crockett.
The shots are free, and are given Monday-Friday from 8- 11:30 a.m. and from 1-4:30 p.m.
The shots will not be given on Dec. 24-25, or Jan. 1, 2010. No appointment is necessary, For additional information call the DSHS office at 544-3559.
