Former CHS athlete arrested for sexual assault in Huntsville

Former Crockett High School athlete Antonio Domenguez Chimney, 19, was arrested Thursday, Nov. 17 by Sam Houston State University Police.According to UPD Deputy Chief James Fitch, Chimney, a SHSU student, was charged with sexual assault of another SHSU student.“Through our investigation, it appears he (Chimney) allegedly sexually assaulted the victim, who was intoxicated and unconscious at the time of the attack,” Fitch said.The alleged attack occurred the night of Oct. 29. The victim reported the incident on Oct. 30 when UPD officers were dispatched to Huntsville Memorial Hospital to investigate, Fitch said.According to the Huntsville Item on Tuesday, Nov. 22, the victim and Chimney had attended several parties Oct. 29 when they ended up in the victim’s dorm room where the alleged attack occurred.Chimney was released from the Walker County Jail after posting bond.Paul Ridings, SHSU assistant athletic director/public relations, said Chimney was suspended from the Bearkats football team when the allegations arose.
