Mike Wyman, RN, has been named emergency department director at ETMC Crockett. Wyman’s duties include overseeing the emergency department, a nursing staff of about 20, coordinating care within the department and ensuring compliance with all federal and state regulations. The ETMC Crockett emergency department sees about 45 patients each day and Wyman said he looks forward to providing each and every patient with the very best care and services when they visit the hospital. Wyman has more than 10 years of experience, most recently serving as charge and trauma nurse at ETMC Tyler. Prior to joining ETMC he worked extensively as a travel nurse assisting in hospitals located in Arkansas and California. Because of his dedication to pediatrics, Wyman said he worked whenever possible at children’s hospitals in California. “I am delighted to have the opportunity to bring my experience to ETMC Crockett and look forward to serving the community,” Wyman said. Wyman, a registered nurse, also holds certifications or licenses in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC), Trauma Nurse Care Course (TNCC), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Advanced Trauma Care for Nurse (ATCN). He also holds an associate degree in nursing. “We are excited to have Mr. Wyman join the ETMC Crockett team,” said Administrator Terry Cutler. “He will be a tremendous asset to our exceptional team of healthcare professionals and the community. His exemplary training in pediatric and trauma care is certainly an asset to our hospital and community,” he added. Wyman, a native of Arkansas, said several members of his family also are employed in the medical profession. He has traveled extensively to destinations in Asia including Thailand and Hong Kong as well as to European countries including Italy, Spain and Germany. He also enjoys fishing, deer hunting, scuba diving and riding motorcycles.
