Maxwell elected to TRA executive committee
Houston County Courier
ARLINGTON - The Trinity River Authority of Texas’ 25-member board of directors recently elected Kevin Maxwell of Crockett to a two-year term on the executive committee. Gov. Rick Perry appointed Maxwell to represent Houston County in 2008. In addition to the executive committee, Maxwell serves as chairman of the Tarrant County Water Supply Project’s right of way committee. He has also been a member of the legal committee and the utility services committee. TRA’s board of directors has also elected Harold L. Barnard of Waxahachie to serve as president, Kim C. Wyatt of Corsicana to serve as vice president and Linda D. Timmerman, Ed.D., as chairwoman of the executive committee. Every two years, TRA’s board of directors elects a president, a vice president, an executive committee chairman and four officers; together they compose the executive committee. Other directors recently elected to the executive committee include Ronald J. Goldman of Fort Worth, John W. Jenkins of Hankamer and Jess A. Laird of Athens. The Trinity River Authority of Texas is a conservation and reclamation district providing water and wastewater treatment, along with recreation and reservoir facilities, for municipalities within the nearly 18,000-square-mile Trinity River basin. TRA also maintains a master plan for basin-wide development, and serves as a conduit for tax-exempt financing for municipal projects and as a local sponsor for federal water projects. Each TRA operating project is an independent financial entity, and TRA receives no tax revenues or appropriations.
