Woman charged in connection with drugs

On Thursday, Feb. 5 the Narcotics Division of the Houston County Sheriff’s Office received a tip that illegal narcotics would be coming into Houston County.
Houston County Sheriff’s Office deputies observed one of the suspected parties, a known drug dealer, being dropped off at Wild Bill’s Sports Bar in Crockett. 
Contact was made with Christina Evans Thornton, 30, of Crockett. 
Thornton admitted to deputies that she was in possession of illegal narcotics, which field tested positive for Methamphetamines.
Thornton was arrested and taken to the Houston County Sheriff’s Office Jail and booked in on possession of a controlled substance, penalty group 1, a state jail felony.  Bond was set at $5,000. 
She was released on bond on Friday, Feb. 6.
