Deputies return to work

CROCKETT - As of Wednesday, Jan. 7 Houston County Sheriff Darrel Bobbitt has put both his employees, Jim Clark and H.D. Gresham, Jr., who had been off work on administrative leave, back to work.
A complainant of alleged civil rights violations was lodged with the Federal Bureau of Investigations over six months ago. 
These deputies have not been charged or indicted for any crime.
Sheriff Bobbitt stated that it is unfair to taxpayers to leave them in a suspended state, causing a shortage of manpower to the sheriff’s office and handicapping his office from providing the very necessary service that the taxpayers are paying for.
