CROCKETT – During the financial report by Dick Murchison at the regular meeting of the Houston County Hospital District Board of Directors held on Tuesday night, Jan. 19 he told members that billing by Architect Scott and Strong had exceeded the amount covered by the federal grant by some $99,005.
Dr. Walker said, “That sounds high to me. I want to go over this issue with him later.”
The architect has already been paid $83,380 of the $189,677 grant, which would leave $106,298 available for payment to the firm.
Dr. Walker said he would bring the completed drawings to the next meeting for board members to see.
In other business, board members approved a resolution calling for the Saturday, May 8 election for positions 2, 4, 6, and 8 presently held by Dr. George Beeler, Dr. John M. Stovall, Dr. Ray Morrison and Deborah Blackwell.
ETMC Crockett Administrator Terry Cutler told board members that the corporate office in Tyler had initiated a new advertising campaign that included replacing the photographs on billboards throughout the area.
He also reported that staff at the hospital would wear color-coded designations to help patients and co-workers easily recognize which department an employee represented.
As part of work on the citizenship badge, members of a local Boy Scout troop attended the meeting.
