What was described by Wal-mart officials as a “small electrical fire” briefly disrupted business there on Thursday morning, Jan. 13. Spokesperson Ashlie Hardie said the source of the fire was in a freezer in the grocery department. She said store personnel immediately contained the fire before the Crockett Volunteer Fire Department was called. One employee was transported by ETMC Emergency Medical Services to ETMC Crockett for smoke inhalation. Hardie said that employee was “fine” Thursday afternoon. Wal-mart was closed for about one and one-half hours due to the fire, according to Hardie. She said Wal-mart is currently assessing any damages to the store. |
