Mission Tejas Park considers equine facilities
Houston County Courier
Mission Tejas Historical State Park is looking at the development of more than 300 acres for equine facilities which would include horseback riding trails and primitive camping sites. Information on the project was discussed at the Jan. 15 meeting of the Friends of Mission Tejas. An onsite investigation to determine feasibility for the development will begin in mid February. In other business, the Friends of Mission Tejas discussed its eligibility for National Environmental Association grants. The Friends of Mission Tejas has applied for a grant that will provide binoculars for bird/wildlife watching by visitors, interpretive signs for existing trails and materials for a wayside exhibit located near traces of El Camino Real located in the park. The Friends of Mission Tejas also discussed plans for the annual Folk Festival scheduled for April 28. |
