Royal Court introduced in Lovelady By Lynda Jones Excitement is building in Lovelady as the city prepares for the 2012 Lovefest, scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 11. This year’s theme for the event is “Can’t Help Falling in Love”. The Royal Court was presented at the historic Collins house Wednesday, Jan. 18. The 30th Annual Lovelady Lovefest Coronation will begin at 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 9 at Lovelady High School. George and Dorthie Broxson will serve as grand marshals of the parade at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 11. Also on Saturday, Feb. 11, is the Lovefest Baby Beauty Contest. Judging will begin at 10 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church of Lovelady. Another favorite is the 30th Annual Lovefest Cook-Off, sponsored by the Lovelady Masonic Lodge. Loose Gravel will provide music for the Lovefest Dance on Saturday, Feb. 11 in the Lovelady Old Gym. Entry forms for the Lovefest Baby Beauty Contest and the Lovefest Cook-Off are available at the Houston County Courier office. |
