CISD approves agreement
Houston County Courier - June 2009

Following an executive session that lasted slightly more than 3.5 hours, members of Crockett Independent School District Board of Trustees unanimously voted to approve the terms of a settlement agreement with Patricia Like regarding graduation honors and the graduation ceremony held on Friday night, May 29.
In a telephone interview Mrs. Like said the agreement only addressed matters involving the actual graduation ceremony that was held nearly three weeks ago.
“The agreement reached by CISD trustees last night did not address the issue of the honor certificate,” Mrs. Like said.
Mrs. Like said that Deputy Superintendent David Baxter told her she would receive the honor certificate before the end of the day Monday, June 8 and when she did not receive it she addressed trustees at their meeting that evening.
Mrs. Like said the district has not responded to any of her requests regarding the honor certificate.
“I only want the trustees to do the right thing and resolve this matter,” Mrs. Like added.
In other business, trustees approved the employment of one elementary school teacher.
Trustees also called a special meeting for Tuesday, June 23 to conduct additional interviews with applicants for the position of superintendent.
Trustee James Berry left the meeting following the executive session and the meeting adjourned at 9:10 p.m.
