Student wins state competition
Houston County Courier -  June 2009

 CROCKETT - Catherine Hamilton was awarded first place in the state 4-H Food Show held during Round-Up at Texas A&M University on Friday, June 12.  
Miss Hamilton prepared olive, oat, whole-wheat bread and exhibited in the Bread and Cereal category.  
She cooked the dish on site and presented it to panel of judges. 
Miss Hamilton presented a three-minute speech and answered questions for eight minutes sharing her knowledge of food and nutrition.
She also described her leadership and community service activities for the year. 
Miss Hamilton also received a $1,000 scholarship from Morrison Milling Company.
She is a member of Homestead 4-H Club and is the daughter of Gary and Kay Hamilton.
