Family dispute leads to arrest of Grapeland man

A Grapeland man was arrested Monday, June 11 after allegedly assaulting his girlfriend and threatening to kill several family members, according to the Houston County Sheriff’s Office. At approximately 3:49 p.m., the Houston County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call reporting a disturbance at Navarro Crossing, located northwest of Grapeland. Houston County deputies responded to the call and were backed up by Texas Department of Public Safety. The suspect, Billy Donaldson, 37, was arrested on site without incident and taken to the Houston County Jail, the HCSO reported. Donaldson was booked on charges of Assault Family Violence, a third degree felony, with bond set at $20,000, and terroristic threat – family member, a Class A misdemeanor, with bond set at $8,000. Donaldson was still incarcerated at press time. |
