CISD approves budget amendments

During a regular meeting held Monday, March 9, Crockett Independent School District board of trustees unanimously approved two budget amendments to accommodate the receipt of $97,509.93 in federal forest funds.
According to the agenda, a total of  $18,229.07 was to be used to fund bus driver’s salary increases and $79,280.86 would be earmarked to pay outstanding legal services bills but was actually added to the undesignated surplus fund.
Trustees called a special meeting for Monday, March 16 to consider local policy BDD-Board Internal Organization – Attorney and local policy BE-Board meetings policies.
In other business, trustees approved the consent agenda, TASB Update 84 for teacher term contracts and probationary contracts.
In non-board meeting related matters, CISD Business Manager John Walker announced on Tuesday, March 10 that he would be leaving district to accept a position in Commerce.
Walker has worked for CISD since  2003.
