Woman Charged with Shooting

On Friday, March 6, Houston County Sheriff’s Office received a call reporting someone shooting a gun on CR 2190,
close to the Houston County Lake Dam. 
The shooter was reported as a black female sitting in a red Jeep armed with a 22-caliber rifle shooting at Houston County employees working on the road.
Deputies responded to the location and the suspect, Maryan Green, 56, of Grapeland, was taken into custody and transported to the Houston County Sheriff’s Office Jail.
She was charged with aggravated assault on a public servant and aggravated assault.
Green had shot several times at a county maintainer and a county dump truck, and also pulled a gun on a citizen trying to get to the lake to go fishing. 
No one was injured and Green was taken into custody without incident.
