Notice of Proposed Houston/Leon/Madison County FSA Area Community Boundaries

Houston, Leon and Madison Counties are now a combined county office due to the closing of the Leon and Madison County Offices in 2007. 
Regulations pertaining to the structure of the Farm Service Agency Committees changed in 2008 to allow county offices with three combined counties to have no more than seven Local Administrative Areas (LAA’s). 
The Houston/Leon/Madison County Committee has proposed the following area community boundaries to be effective for the 2009 COC election to increase the existing 5 LAA’s to 7 LAA’s to ensure better representation of Madison and Leon County producers.

Community A Houston Co.  (LAA 1), is comprised of area South of Hwy 7 extending West from Crockett to the county line and the area West of a line out of Crockett along FM 2712 and continuing South on CR 4025 to FM 1309 on to FM 1280, then East on FM 1280 to the Trinity County line.

Community B Houston Co. (LAA 2), is comprised of the area North of Hwy 21 extending east from Crockett and the area North of Hwy 7 extending West of Crockett.

Community C Houston (LAA 3), is comprised of the area from Downtown Crockett Northeast following Hwy 21 to the County Line and area East of a line out Crockett along FM 2712 and continuing south on CR 4025 to FM 1309 on to FM 1280, then east on FM 1280 to the Trinity County line.

Community D Leon Co. (LAA 4), is comprised of  all the area west of a north/south line along Hwy 75 in Leon County extending south to the Madison County line.

Community E Leon Co. (LAA 5), is comprised of all the area east of a north/south line along Hwy 75 in Leon County extending south of Madison  County line.

Community F Madison Co. (LAA 6), is comprised of all the area west of a north/south line along Hwy 75 to Madisonville extending south along Hwy 90 to the Grimes County line.

Community G Madison Co. (LAA 7), is comprised of all the area east of a North/South line along Hwy 75 to Madisonville extending south along Hwy 90 to the Grimes County line.
