Health symposium to be held

A health symposium titled “States of Life” will be held on Wednesday, May 20 in the fellowship hall of the First United Methodist Church 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.
Presentations will include information about insurance by Debbie Clendennon, legal issues and wills by Jody Griffith.
Other informational areas that will be addressed include medical equipment costs and insurance coverage.
Local representatives will present programs about home health services and the advantages of home care for individuals with medicare.
Kathrine McCall will speak on the transitions of home living to an assisted living facility.
A representative of a health care facility will go over the information needed for nursing home care and added information will be available from a local funeral home about pre-planning and burial policies.
The symposium is intended to help educate seniors on the stages that will occur in their lives and how to prepare for them.
The event will also honor all seniors ages 55 and over and will include refreshments and door prizes.
