On Thursday, May 21, Paradigm held a emergency responder and damage prevention training program for local law enforcement, fire departments and others to educated them on pipeline safety awareness.
Pipelines are a critical national infrastructure, with over 2.4 million miles of pipeline in the U.S. that provide 65 percent of the nations energy, with over 20 million barrels of liquid product flowing through them daily.
The safety awareness training program was intended to inform local first responders on what to do in case of a pipeline emergency. The program also emphasized the importance of calling before you dig and letting a trained professional assist you in knowing the exact locations of pipelines in the area.
The session also taught the first responders the emergency response basics in the case of an emergency or a suspected leak.
