HOUSTON COUNTY – At least two Houston County postal officials said they have or intend to contact a candi-date in the race for a position on Latexo Independent School district Board of Trustees re-garding rules relating to the placement of advertising ma-terial in mailboxes, According to Crockett Post Office Officer in charge Greg Kazmierczak he had received two complaints from individu-als stating that political adver-tising had been placed in their mailboxes. Kazmierczak said he had contacted the political candi-date and informed him that it was illegal to place unautho-rized items in mailboxes and it was customary to first warn any violator. Grapeland Post Office Post-master Velda Parker said she had received three complaints and that she intended to ask the candidate for the required postage for the items that had been placed in the mailboxes. The Latexo Post Office Postmaster Sonja Hoch said, “I don’t want my name men-tioned mailboxes) but it was not a complaint.” |
