Crime Stoppers hosts sign contest

HOUSTON COUNTY – Area students who are seniors will have an opportunity to win a $100 cash prize for designing a sign for Houston County Crime Stoppers. The contest is open to seniors in any of the five school districts in Houston County including Latexo, Crockett, Lovelady, Kennard and Grapeland as well as those who are enrolled in the home school system. Entries can be submitted in person at KIVY. Entries should be drawn on an 8 1/2 x 11 paper with the student’s name, address and contact information on the back. All entries should include Crime Stoppers local phone number 545-Tips ((8477) and web address of www.545-Tips.com. The deadline for entries is Tuesday, June 1 at 5 p.m. A Crime Stoppers committee will judge the entries and the winner will become the county’s newest celebrity and be part of the KIVY morning show that week. The winner will also be recognized by other local media. In addition, Crimes Stoppers may use the winning entry as a template for advertising on signs, billboards, and local businesses.
