CROCKETT – A man, call-ing himself an American pa-triot, made his way through Houston County on horseback headed to Washington, D.C. for Constitution Week in Sep-tember. With his two horses Chick, a 9-year-old paint and Blaze, a 17-year-old sorrel by his side, Noble Wise, said the eight-month ride began in Austell, Ga. on March 22. He said the ride will total about 2,600 miles and an ad-vance man in an RV goes ahead of him locating accom-modations. Wise and his companions travel about 20 miles per day and he said he changes horses after about 10 miles. He said he began the journey that has taken him about 600 miles to raise voter awareness after waking up one night afraid for his country. He said he felt like he had not done anything so he “took to the road.” When he left Crockett he said he was headed to Madi-sonville. |
