LATEXO – Latexo Inde-pendent School District Board of trustees met in an executive session that lasted about 30 minutes on Monday, May 3 and accepted the retirement of Superintendent Dr. Roy Tuck-er. Trustees also reportedly ac-cepted the associated compen-sation agreement. According to Dr. Tucker, his retirement will become effec-tive June 30. He said the tim-ing was right for retirement and he would pursue other interests after leaving the dis-trict. “I’ve had a good run in La-texo and have accomplished the goals I set out for myself,” Dr. Tucker said in a telephone interview. Dr. Tucker said he had been in education for the past 30 years, 28 of which as an ad-ministrator. “I would like to thank the students, faculty, fellow ad-ministrators, school board, and the community for the opportunity to have worked at Latexo for the past 11 years. It has been privilege to be a small part of the learning envi-ronment of the students,” Dr. Tucker said.
