Houston County Courier
HOUSTON COUNTY - On Monday, March 29 the Hou-ston County Sheriff’s Office received information regarding a burglary of a habitation at a residence located at 3478 FM 2423 in Grapeland. The owner reported when he returned home that evening he found several items, includ-ing four wea-pons and his cell phone, had been taken from his home. After realizing what had oc-curred, the owner called his cell phone provider and had his number changed to a dif-ferent phone. The owner later received a phone call from a lady stating she was returning his call. The owner had not called her himself and the time that she received the call was while the owner was away from home without his cell phone. It was learned that the call-er’s ex-husband was Mickey Minter, Jr. Minter then became a sus-pect in the case and an investi-gation ensued. On Thursday, April 1 Sgt. Randy Hargrove went to An-derson County to interview Minter, who had been arrested after a traffic stop in which he was charged with possession of a controlled substance and felon in possession of a fire-arm. The firearm that Minter had with him at the time of the stop was one stolen in the Grapeland burglary. As of press time, Minter re-mained incarcerated in the Houston County Jail on charges of burglary of a habi-tation, with bond set at $10,000 and a motion to re-voke probation/burglary of habitation with a no bond.
