Authorities have issued a warrant charging 29-year-old Grapeland resident, Ricky Alfred Walker, Jr. with attempted capital murder in connection with a Saturday, Nov. 22 shooting in the 400 block of Spence Circle.
Grapeland resident Jason Whitt, 31, reportedly sustained what appeared to be knife and gunshot wounds during the incident.
 Whitt was transported to ETMC Tyler by ETMC Air One West.
Authorities said following the incident Walker was last seen driving a 2004 gray Hyundai bearing the license number Y74-BZR.
Records indicate
 that Walker’s
criminal history dates back to August 1998 and includes arrests for assault, aggravated sexual assault, and stalking.
Whitt’s criminal history dates back to 1996 and includes arrests for criminal trespass, possession of a controlled substance, burglary of a habitation, traffic violations and probation violation.
According to reports, Grapeland Police Department, Houston County Sheriff’s Office, Texas Parks and Wildlife, Houston County District Attorney Investigator, Grapeland Volunteer Fire Department and Grapeland EMS responded to the call about 8 a.m.
As of press time Tuesday morning, Nov. 25, law enforcement officials said Walker was still at large and urged anyone with information regarding his whereabouts to contact Grapeland Police Department at 687-5141, Houston County Sheriff’s Office at 544-2862, or dial 911.
